invites you to a Mandarin Chinese course to be offered in Makati:

DOING BUSINESS IN CHINA SERIES: Breaking the Language Barrier
(Mandarin Chinese for Beginners)

DESCRIPTION
A working knowledge of basic Mandarin is essential for anyone who desires
to do business in China. This eight-session course, spread over eight
weeks, will impart a basic knowledge of the simplified Chinese script,
pinyin Romanization, and conversational Chinese in situational contexts.

OBJECTIVES
A successful participant will:
  1. Speak basic Mandarin in a variety of day-to-day situations;
  2. Follow basic sentence patterns and grammatical rules;
  3. Use pinyin romanization to read Chinese and consult a dictionary;
     and
  4. Recognize and write basic Chinese characters.

RESOURCE PERSON
Ms. DAISY C. SEE is a full-time faculty member of the Ateneo de Manila
University Chinese Studies Program, She has taught Mandarin Chinese and
Chinese Painting for many years and has translated the scripts of several
Chinese TV series into English and Filipino. A graduate of the Philippine
Cultural High School, she has attended various training programs for
Chinese language teachers in China.

N.B. Application forms sent shall be deemed confirmed. Cancellations
made within the 10-day period before the start of the course shall be
charged a cancellation fee.

Our courses are also available to individual firms on an exclusive,
customized basis. Successful participants may earn units towards an MBA
degree.
