[Blueboard] Vice-President's Awards for Service and Excellence 2003

Good morning to all.

We would like to remind the Ateneo community that today, January 31, 2003 is 
the deadline for submission of nominations for the Vice President's Awards for 
Service and Excellence. Please submit to the ADSA Office your nomination forms 
for all categories. Attached is the nomination form. 


Now on its 13th year, the Vice-President's Awards for Service and Excellence  
seeks to acknowledge the efforts of members of the Ateneo de Manila University 
Loyola Schools community who have made a significant and special contribution 
to the school or the outside community.  It recognizes those who have excelled 
in their own field of practice during the school year.

The Vice-President's Awards for Service and Excellence aims to give distinction 
to individuals and groups who have embodied the ideals of services to their 
community and excellence in their work and fields of endeavor.

The individual, group, or project must reflect to a significant degree the ff: 
thrusts of the ADMU Loyola Schools.

*Excellence (in one or more fields)
*Socio-political involvement/action
*Culural rootedness
*Christian/spiritual maturity
*Awareness of socioo-political consequences

        *Most Otstanding Individual
        *Most Outstanding Student Group
        *Most Outstanding Project
        *Most Oustanding Individual in a Supporting Role

Eligibility requirements for nomination to the VP's Awards

A.  Individual

* any college student who has been enrolled for at least four consecutive 
semesters in the Ateneo, including the current semester

*with no disciplinary case

*with no QPI lower than 2.0

*outstanding involvement in non-academic groups or activities

B.  Student Group

*any recognized/non-recognized, formal/non-formal group or organization=20

C.  Project

*any project mounted by the students of the Loyola Schools and not considered 
as an adacademic requirement

D.  Supporting Category is divided into formal and informal involvement

*Formal:  may be given to coaches, moderators, mentors, faculty and non-
teaching staff

*Informal:  anybody who has been involved with, contributed to the success of, 
and has shown tremendious positive influence to any Loyola Schools student 
and/or student groups.

Mechanics for Nomination to the  VP's Awards for Service and Excellence

*Any student or org. may nominate an individual or student group for the VP 
Awards for Service and Excellence, Procter and Gamble Student Excellence Award, 
Council of Organizations of the Ateneo Awards, Ambrosio Padilla Award, and the 
TheGuidon Moro Lorenzo Awards for Sports.

*(any member of trhe Loylola Schools community of the Ateneo, except members of 
the screening committee, the judging committee, and the VP herself, is eligible 
to nominate for any category.

*Nominees and official representatives (for project and group categories) must 
sign the nomination form attesting to all stated facts therein and giving 
consent to the independent verification of the VP's Awards Screening and 
Verifications Committee and the subsequent publication of said information.
