Please visit http://cng.ateneo.net/forms/univform.pdf for the mail.ateneo.edu Account Application Procedure.

The telephone cables at the Social Science building affected by the De la Costa Hall renovation were relocated last 27 and 28 December 2002 with minimum service disruption. Interconnection of communication lines to the renovated section of Xavier Hall and the new High School Science building were also completed over the Christmas break. PLDT installed fiber optic patch cord from their cabinet to the PABX MDF yesterday for the ECCE VIDEO CONFERENCE project.

WATER: Samples from thirty-one cisterns and overhead tanks were tested by the UP NSRI Microbiological Services Laboratory last 17 December 2002. Only three failed the tests. Samples will again be taken for testing next week.

PARKING: Starting 6 January 2003, eighteen parking slots at the Central Carpark south of the PLDT CTC building were made available to students. Dr. Emmanuel T. Velasco, Dean of the School of Management and Engineering is responsible for this move.

SECURITY: An intoxicated Ateneo Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AMPC) canteen cook, EDUARDO C. Eduardo C. Rosario, 43 years old of Block 3 Lot 7, Ateneo Housing Project.

The following day, the same worker was again intoxicated, disorderly and maliciously disrespectful to a superior officer during the AMPC Christmas party. He also ignored the Canteen Manager's admonition to behave and apologize for his unruly behavior. Instead, he answered that he is not used to saying sorry and that "hihipuan ko lang naman siya at hindi naman masama yan" referring to the superior officer.

Observing due process, the following actions were taken:

1.. 23 December 2002: Mr. Rosario was placed under preventive suspension, banned on campus and asked to give his side in writing to the charges filed against him. On the same day, Mr. Rosario submitted his written reply and admitted committing the offenses.
2.. 6 January 2003: An Ad Hoc AMPC committee was formed to investigate the charges against Mr. Rosario.
3.. 7 January: The committee summoned Mr. Rosario to personally present his side. He admitted committing all the offenses before the committee.
4.. 8 January: The committee unanimously found Mr. Rosario guilty as charged and recommended the termination of his services for cause. On the same day, Mr. Rosario was formally informed that his services as AMPC cook had been terminated for cause. He was also asked to immediately settle his outstanding account with AMPC. AMPC's action does not preclude legal action by the victim against Mr. Rosario.

The DSWD student officers also reported another incident after the Salamat sa Tumutulong affair last 20 December 2002. They reported several Loyola Schools personnel drinking at the College Covered Courts during the affair where no alcoholic beverages was served or allowed. This may have contributed to the fistfight after the affair resulting to injuries. The case is now under investigation by the Loyola Schools administration.

Guard INDION P CREDO was caught sleeping while on duty at the JGSOM building last Friday, 3 January. He is suspended for fifteen days without pay as prescribed in LSIA Rules and Regulations. Should he commit the offense again, he will be suspended for forty-five days and relieved of his assignment in the Loyola Heights campus.

MAINTENANCE: Potholes in campus roads and car parks were repaired during the Christmas break.
