Reports have been received regarding virus infection via the Internet. The
Campus Network Group (CNG) which maintains the central OfficeScan server
that monitors all desktop workstations is in the process of installing
OfficeScan on the end user's workstation and. CNG sanitizes the virus
through the Internet and it is reasonably safe. It should be mentioned
however, that there are hundreds of computer viruses being discovered
everyday and the antivirus programs can only catch up with these. There is
no absolute protection against viruses. The best precaution is still to
delete unknown messages and not to open attachments.

SECURITY: Bennette Rama Rolida, the suspected exhibitionist reported last
week was apprehended last Friday afternoon. The coed he harassed the week
before positively identified him on the same day. Mr. Rolida also admitted
committing the offense when questioned by the guards. However, the police
released Mr. Rolida last Sunday night.

Mr. Rolida was warned to stay out of the campus. Should he ignore the
warning and return to on campus undetected, the community is requested to
immediately report his presence to the guards. Below are his pictures,
which were circulated in a Security Bulletin earlier.

                                                 BENNETTE RAMA ROLIDA

Miriam College has temporarily closed the "friendship bridge" at the EAPI
area. All are requested to respect Miriam College's request.

PARKING: Various options are now being reviewed to deal with the expected
parking problems by the first semester. A major step is to adjust the
parking slots to allow vehicles sufficient space. However, this may reduce
the number of parking slots available.

MAINTENANCE: Dredging of the "Meron" pond near the Social Science building
was completed last week. The ponds banks have also been rip rapped with
recovered concrete slabs. SKI reinforced bar cuttings were used to pin the
concrete slabs in place.

Two Univ. Physical Plant personnel are currently taken courses in
computer-assisted design (CAD). The plan is to require all contractors on
campus to submit as-built plans in soft copies as well as hard copies.
This would facilitate updating building and utilities plans as the
university expands and grows.
