ArtSpeak, the Ateneo Art Gallery's monthly series of talks by significant art
practitioners, resumes its 2002-2003 program by profiling "Whitewash"
exhibition curator Yeyey Cruz. The event is scheduled on Tuesday, 30 July
2002, 4:30 p.m. at the university art museum’s Main Gallery.

Ms. Cruz is presently curatorial consultant of the Lopez Memorial Museum, where
she has initiated a number of innovative exhibitions. An independent curator
and a graduate of the Royal College of Art, London, where she holds an M.A. in
Curating Contemporary Art, her work caught the attention of Ateneo Art Gallery
curator Ramon E.S. Lerma, who invited her to collaborate on "Whitewash", a show
which casts a new light on the country’s first and only museum of modern art by
showing the relevance of its permanent collection to current directions in
Philippine art. The exhibition has injected the Gallery with an air of
freshness and youthful verve that has appealed to many visitors.

Admission to ArtSpeak is free and open to the public. Advanced booking is
recommended, as seats are limited. For more information, please contact Yolly
Arambulo at 426-6001, ext. 4160.

EPSON and HUMAN are the sponsors of "Whitewash," which runs until 14 August
2002. Free admission.

The Ateneo Art Gallery is at the Ground Floor, Rizal Library, Ateneo de Manila
University, Loyola Heights, Quezon City. Museum hours: 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to
Friday; 8 am to 12 nn, Saturday; Closed on Sundays and holidays.##
