Dear Gallery Friends:

In keeping with the Ateneo Art Gallery's commitment to maintaining and
strenghtening its  position as a leading art museum in the Philippines and
in the Southeast Asian region, key appointments were made recently which
created an opening for the position of:


The Assistant Curator-Exhibitions is a professional and a member of the
Ateneo Art Gallery's programming team. He/she reports to the Curator, and
is responsible for coordinating and implementing exhibitions, events,
talks, and publications, as well as other assigned tasks. 

He/she is expected to work closely with guest curators, artists, and the
Publicity Office of the University's Office of Planning and Development, to
ensure that the Gallery's objective of promoting wider public engagement
with modern and contemporary art is realized.

He/she has a keen interest in research, and is encouraged to initiate
projects in consonance with the Curator's institutional policies.


>       Commitment to the Ateneo de Manila University's ideals of service
and excellence.

>       Tertiary qualifications in the fine arts, art history and theory,
or museum studies.

>       A thorough knowledge of Philippine and Western art history,
particularly local and
          international contemporary art movements. Knowledge of Southeast
          art histories is an advantage.

>       Literate in MS Office and experienced in graphic design.

>       Excellent public speaking, and proven writing and editing skills.

>       Interpersonal skills and an ability to work within the context of
the academe.


Candidates are contacted by the Gallery to complete a written exam and an
interview with the Curator.

ASSISTANT CURATOR-EXHIBITIONS is a full-time position. Appointment is
conditional on a six-month contract pending the Curator's recommendation
for full employment.
